Prof. Dr. Jan Luuk Hillebrands
Jan Luuk, a specialist in kidney and vascular pathology, contributes his in-depth expertise to Reno-NL’s research initiatives. His vast experience in organ pathology significantly enhances the quality of the research. As a professor in Experimental Vascular Pathology ( UMCG, NL), he ensures the highest scientific standards in our organ pathology studies. Expertise area: pathology, kidney and vascular biology.
Prof. Dr. Henri Leuvenink
As a leading expert in machine perfusion, Henri has extensive experience with ex vivo kidney models. As Professor of Experimental Transplantation Surgery (UMCG, NL), he played a pivotal role in advancing organ preservation technologies through innovation, clinical application, and collaboration to improve clinical outcomes. Expertise area: transplantation, in vitro/ex vivo models, machine perfusion.
Dr. Leonie Beljaars
Leonie brings expertise in pharmacology, in particular pharmacokinetics and drug targeting, and liver pathologies.
As Reno-NL’s Chief Operating Officer, she combines her scientific insight with project management experience to drive research forward. Expertise area: pharmacology, drug development, liver pathologies, and project management.
Ing. Petra Ottens
As a real lab magician, Petra leads Reno-NL’s research operations and takes care of all practical aspects associated with our core technology. With a strong background in machine perfusion technology and associated biomedical analysis, she ensures precision and innovation in experimental methodologies. Expertise area: machine perfusion technology and associated biomedical analysis.
Stephan Leuvenink
Stephan has a strong background in economics and a proven track record in founding successful companies. With deep expertise in entrepreneurship, business development, and sales, he combines strategy and execution to identify opportunities and build scalable, high-impact businesses.
